Every Saturday, the resonant voices of female training echoes through the Shachong Ma Family Spear Martial Arts Hall in Zhongshan's South District. Amid the training rhythms, 18-year-old Ma Jingrong provides hands-on guidance to her 12-year-old sister Ma Jingqi. Their movements mirror the form of their father Ma Yuquan, the current lineage holder of Ma Family Spear, as his shadow seems to dance alongside theirs in the practice hall.
From their wobbly horse stances as beginners to now confidently leading peers in spear routines on the school playground, these sisters are following in their father's footsteps, continuing to write the living legacy of Ma Family Spear through their own journey of mastery.
