In August 2025, Zhongshan's CPI (consumer price index) declined by 0.7% year-on-year and 0.3% month-on-month, with a cumulative decrease of 0.1% from January to August.
Food prices fell by 2.0% year-on-year, while non-food prices decreased by 0.4%. Consumer goods prices dropped by 0.8%, and service prices declined by 0.5%.
Prices for other goods and services surged by 6.7% year-on-year, household goods and services rose by 2.8%, and clothing prices increased by 1.7%.
In contrast, transportation and communication costs dropped by 4.4%, food, tobacco and alcohol prices fell by 1.3%, and housing costs decreased by 0.5%.
Prices for education, culture, entertainment and healthcare remained flat.
