"Commuting is now so convenient that working in Cuiheng feels just like working in Shenzhen," said Dr Tong Dudu, executive director of Shenzhen-based company Leman Biotech, after arriving at its branch at the Zhongshan Life Science Park in Cuiheng New District on September 16, following a drive of approximately one hour.
Leman Biotech is an innovative biopharmaceutical company that holds core technologies in the field of tumor immunotherapy. To expedite the commercialization of its technologies into practical applications, the company has established an industrial base in Cuiheng New District, which is expected to commence formal production within this year, thereby significantly enhancing production efficiency.
Dr Tong explained that the Zhongshan branch will concentrate on two key areas: First, process development for solid tumors, leveraging proprietary technologies to refine production processes and improve treatment outcomes for solid tumors; Second, the deployment of fully automated, integrated production equipment designed to reduce production space, shorten production cycles and lower costs, with initial validation planned for Zhongshan.
When asked why the company chose to set up a branch in Zhongshan, Dr Tong explained that from the negotiation phase to the actual establishment, they were deeply impressed by Zhongshan's efficient and high-quality business environment. From the initial site visit in early March 2024 to the signing of the agreement in October, communication with the park administration was seamless. After settling in, the park assisted in resolving renovation issues and introduced multiple investment institutions, playing a pivotal role in facilitating the branch's financing. The opening of the ShenZhong Link has significantly improved the efficiency of logistics and personnel exchanges.
